About JASIS 2012
Welcome to the new JASIS (Japan Analytical & Scientific Instruments Show)!

The year 2012 marks the 50th holding of the Analytical Instruments Exhibition (JAIMA EXPO) as well as the 35th holding in Tokyo of the Scientific Instruments Show (SIS). In commemoration of this, we have decided that the name of the Analytical Instruments Exhibition/Scientific Instruments Exhibition (JAIMA EXPO/SIS) shall be amalgamated into the “Japan Analytical & Scientific Instruments Show” (JASIS). This name includes the nuance of “from Japan,” signifying our passion for contributing to the development of scientific technologies worldwide.

The new name was selected from among 577 submissions gathered through public solicitation held from January 20 to 31, 2011. It was chosen for its suitability for international use based on a survey of its receptiveness by foreign countries.
In keeping with the concept of “this field's hub exhibition for Asia,” the logo design is centered on a brush-style typeface that sets off the Japanese and Asian character. It conveys strength, while the other typeface communicates the refinement and precision of analytical and scientific instruments.

The poster design articulates the steady growth of JASIS through an image of a tree, reaching straight up, with a thick trunk. This design symbolizes how analytical and scientific instruments for diverse fields develop from the “trunk” one branch after another, and, thanks to the efforts of many researchers, they “blossom” in various fields to the benefit of people's lives.

As for the catchphrase—“Discover the Future.”—this expresses how JASIS is an event instilled with Japan's unique mindset for sophisticated fine technology and product creation, and is, as this field's largest exhibition in Asia, fertile ground for the innovation and discoveries that will inspire future business.

To enhance the global positioning of JASIS by furthering its ability to serve as a global source of information, we are planning concerted promotional activities in Japan, Asia, and other neighboring areas aimed at strengthening cooperation between various leading industries and related organizations. On this occasion of the inauguration of JASIS, we will develop the show’s appeal, attracting exhibitors and visitors from Asian nations as an Asian leader.

JASIS 2012 will be held at Makuhari Messe from Wednesday, September 5 to Friday, September 7, 2012. We appreciate your kind support.
