National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology

Highlight

We introduce the current state of research at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) under the theme of "reliability of measurement" to support Japan's technology innovation and social safety and "innovative manufacturing and sensing technology" aimed at realizing a super-smart society (Society 5.0). National Metrology Institute of Japan (NMIJ/AIST) will exhibit 10 items including "The ultimate dark sheet that absorbs all light", "Large-area high-sensitivity digital X-ray imaging system: Dramatically efficient X-ray nondestructive inspection", "Technology to evaluate the sensitivity and response of heat flux sensors", and "Towards verification of accuracy and reproducibility of trace liquid flow to improve the reliability of analytical instruments." Also, Department of Electronics and Manufacturing will exhibit 10 items including "Smart agriculture in Japan for high quality ingredients", "Wearable humidity sensor with stretch durability", "Perspiration sensing technology", and "Flexible sensor sheet for visualizing wind speed distribution." Please come and visit our booth.

Conference
Value Creation by Sensing Inovation
Date & Time Sept. 4 (Wed.) 13:00~15:45 Place Conference Room 102
We are contributing to enhancing industrial competitiveness by developing advanced electronics, optical device technologies and innovative manufacturing technologies. Recently, We are creating new values by innovative sensing technology. In this seminar, we introduce the latest research of sensing technologies and value creation by using them. The language in this seminar is Japanese, but question in English is acceptable.
NMIJ Reference Material Seminar 2019: Validation of Measured Values and Reference Materials
Date & Time Sept. 5 (Thu.) 10:00~16:05 Place International Conference Room
Reference materials play important roles in the validation of measured values in chemical analysis. In this seminar, we will give a talk on ensuring the traceability required in ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory accreditation, which guarantees the reliability of measured values. We will also give a talk on the role and use of reference materials in validation of measured values. Please feel free to join us.
The 5th Symposium of Research Institute for Measurement and Analytical Instrumentation  (RIMA) – Measurement and analysis solution to support technological innovation -
Date & Time Sept. 6 (Fri.) 10:00~15:30 Place International Conference Room
RIMA conducts research and development of material diagnosis and defect evaluation technology for social infrastructure, advanced measurement technology using various probes and quantum beams that contribute to new materials and product development, and measurement standards that support manufacturing processes, medical treatment and the environment. In this symposium, we will introduce practical measures to support technological innovation from companies, including actual solutions, on competitive measurement and analysis technology topics owned by RIMA.
AIST Material Diagnostic Platform seminar "Analytical evaluation technology supporting the development of functional materials "
Date & Time Sept. 6 (Fri.) 13:25~16:30 Place Conference Room 301B
In recent years, conversion to polymer materials has progressed in various fields such as transportation equipment and structural materials, and demands for safety and quality have been increasing. Polymeric materials have complicated supply chains from materials to products, so there is a need to develop unified analysis and evaluation methods throughout the supply chain. In this seminar, we introduce our approach to material evaluation technology and the latest evaluation technology.
